Photo editing is an essential in Photography. EVERY professional photographer edits their photos.

False, unless the person is using film.

Nice Video! but why did you use aperture 22? Woulndt be it be it better to take around 10 (depends on which lens) to have the maximum sharpness? greets

At the end of the day, the proof of the pudding is still in the eating. 🙂 Happy shooting!

I’ll try ;P But it’s when they brag and try to prove their way’s better than everyone else’s that gets me >.< I think I'll just ignore them lol =]

Fair enough. Don’t let it get on your nerves though; there will always be gear collectors and arm chair experts and if that’s what floats their boat, then so be it. For what it’s worth: I am in the “learn to use your equipment” camp as well, but it takes all sorts (which I believe to also be an English expression ;-)).

Firstly (to get this out of the way), I’m from the north of England. ‘getting sick’ is a saying up there - meaning or no meaning. Secondly, I am speaking from my personal experience of friends of mine getting extremely high-end cameras (>£3K), never learning how to use them, and just relying on PS to do their dirty work. You may have different experiences, though =]

If you are getting sick as a result of something, doesn’t that imply that this effectively makes you sick? Semantics aside though, my point was that I don’t get why it affects you (i.e. why you are “getting” sick) one way or the other. To each their own I say. If someone enjoys spicing up their bland snapshots, then more power to them. Besides, a bad picture does not imply a lack of camera knowledge, or vice versa.

It doesn’t ‘make’ me sick, I said I’m ‘getting’ sick. It’s a figure of speech – a saying. And it’s not just a case of “someone else’s workflow”, it’s that this concept of taking a bad picture, and really over-processing it in post is becoming more common. (a lot of) People these days don’t bother to learn how to use their camera, and would prefer to let Photoshop do the stuff they can’t.

Where was a crap picture taken and why does someone else’s workflow make you sick?

  • By TheMightyPnut, January 2, 2012 @ 4:00 pm

I’m really getting sick of people who take a crap picture, and make it look ‘good’ after…

Great video but a lot of stupid comments here. The man is giving you ideas; you don’t have to follow them to the letter, they’re just options. Adjust to your own personal tastes and stop whining.

  • By Varsons, January 2, 2012 @ 4:54 pm

although there’s too much vibrance at my taste, I think you could’ve added even more brightness to that finished edit.
